Christmas Cards that Light up a Corner of Guatemala

If you’re tired of searching through the malls for the perfect widget for Uncle Bert, how about these options:

Give the opportunity to read.

$20 will buy one or more books for the San Antonio Community Library, and gets Uncle Bert’s name on a bookplate inside the cover of one of those books. Right now, San Antonio’s kids rarely get to see a book.

Give the gift of learning.

Help us support a scholarship student through to graduation (something totally beyond the resources of most San Antonio families), and also to support the new Community Learning Centre, where students will find resources and support, and adults will also find courses and resources to help them improve their lives. Donations of any amount are welcome.

Give food and companionship to an Anciana.

$85 will provide a frail elderly woman with a weekly nutritious lunch for 6 months, plus a social time of fun, stories, and exercise. We hope to be able to provide this lunch twice a week, but need your help. Donations of any amount are welcome.

Your financial help will make a great difference to the lives of people in San Antonio. Uncle Bert will be thrilled, and you will get a tax receipt.

Scarf Sales

Thanks to your generous support over the years, most people in the village of San Antonio Palopo now have clean-burning, fuel-efficient stoves that have replaced dangerous open-hearth fires. We will continue to maintain them so they are safe and working well.

Parents, teachers, and community leaders recommend a much-needed Learning Centre and Library for San Antonio's children, who are falling behind and dropping out of school as early as Grade 6.  We are refocusing our efforts to ensure the next generation have quality education in their own village. We also plan to continue with our lunch program for the very poor elderly widows.

TO HELP US FUND THESE PROGRAMS, WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU AT OUR TWO GUATEMALAN SCARF SALES IN SAANICH AND VICTORIA:
